Scouts
These are some of our thoughts on the programs offered to young people 13 through 20 years of age. They are designed to allow young people an opportunity to have fun with their friends while safely boating in watercraft of all sizes. Through carefully developed programs, kids build on what ever knowledge they have about boating, sometimes knowing nothing, and grow to become competent in handling boats of all sizes.The kids also learn the responsibility of giving and taking orders, the time to do so without question and the time to question; independence based on their own abilities and the benefit of interacting with others, and how to determine which is which; and the get a taste of Life in General in a good environment with good people that often become great, life-long friends.
These programs are fun, exciting, and competitive and allow participants to choose from a wide range of activities depending upon which ship is joined. They are flexible programs, so that a young person can join and still have time for school, job and/or sports, or other activities. Our thanks in particular to Ship 936 and Skip for a helping a great group of kids and young adults develop, grow up and take up their own helms!
